The Progressive Corporation bought the naming rights in 2008 for 16 years to change the name to the Progressive Field in a deal worth $58 million. The ballpark is still often referred to as "The Jake" by some locals based on its original name. The total construction cost of the stadium is around $320 million and has a capacity of over 45,000.

Progressive Field Parking

As well as having the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse Stadium which hosts the Cleveland Cavaliers next door and the popularity of the stadium by local fans, Progressive Field parking can be difficult as it can often be a busy, built-up area. This is why it is important to reserve parking near the stadium before you arrive, below we will look at a few options and compare prices to make this process easy and find the best parking for Cleveland Guardians fans in the area.


Cathedral Plaza Garage

This garage is ideally situated in downtown Cleveland on 9th Street and Rockwell Ave, just an 8-minute walk to the Public Square. There are many options available to you depending on the length of time you want to stay. prices start from $3 for 15 minutes and a full daytime rate is available at $13. You can get an early bird discount if you are in by 8.30 am and out by 7 pm Monday to Friday for $7.50, Evening rates are $6 and an overnight stay is $10. There is a flat rate of $6 for Saturdays and Sundays.


For savings on this parking lot, you can book in advance and secure your spot at a discounted rate on the SmartPass flexible parking by making use of their day pass for Monday to Fridays at $7, once you have booked in advance all you will need to do is scan in and out on the day using your QR code.


Gateway East Garage

The Gateway East Garage, not far from Prospect Avenue is ideally situated for Progressive Field Parking and it is just a short walk from the stadium. The parking prices are $15 for Cleveland Guardians games, $20 for Cleveland Cavaliers, and $10 for Cleveland Monsters games.


On nongame days you can park there for $1 per 15 minutes with a maximum daily rate of $7 as long as you are out by 5.30 pm.


Public Square Garage

Located in the Cleveland Public Square this garage is around a 15-minute walk from the Progressive Field Stadium and has many short-term parking options available from 15 minutes to 4 hours ranging between $4 to $18, you can also pay $20 for 24 hours which ends at 3 am. Evening rates are $12 if you are in after 5.30 pm and out before 3 am.

There are weekend flat rates for Saturday and Sunday all day available at:

  • $5 (in 8am-12pm)

  • $12 (in 3am-8am)

  • $12 (In after 12pm)

Reserved monthly spaces can be purchased for $350 and unreserved monthly for $245 (Monday to Sunday). This parking lot is open 24/7.


Huntington Garage

This garage is around a 10-minute walk to downtown Cleveland at 999 Chester Ave. Parking spaces in this lot cost you $3 per hour with a maximum daily rate of $12.


There are early-bird discounts available Monday - Friday at $7 and evening parking rates are $5. There is a flat rate of $5 per day Saturdays and Sundays. Monthly reserved spaces cost $222.00 and unreserved $179.00

Fri-Sat: 6:00am - 12:00am


Places to stay in Downtown Cleveland

If you're out of town and looking to stay in the area for the night there are many great hotels in the downtown area of Cleveland including the Hilton and the Hyatt Regency Hotels.

Hyatt Regency Hotel

On-site parking is available at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and is open 24 hours Monday to Sunday. Self-parking is not available in this hotel and valet parking is charged at $39 for 24 hours.


The hotel is located on Superior Ave and could be a good option for Progressive Field Parking as it is around a 10-minute walk from the Progressive Field Stadium.


The Hilton Hotel

The Hilton is a bit of a further 18-minute walk from the stadium, however, they do offer self-parking as well as valet parking in this hotel. Self-parking is $32 and valet parking is $42, the parking lot is open 24 hours every day. Also, there are certain locations where street parking is possible. Public Transport

If you wish to head from downtown to the Progressive Field Stadium via public transit there are public transportation options available, with three rail lines running and fan services to drop you off near Progressive Field, all rail lines meet at the main terminal of the tower city center.
