The Oakland ferry terminal is located in Jack London Square in Oakland, California. From the Oakland Terminal, you can choose between 5 different ferry routes run by San Francisco Bay Ferries.
On July 1, San Francisco Bay Ferry launched a new timetable offering more weekday departures than ever before. With ferries departing regularly from Oakland and Alameda to San Francisco Terminal-this is a beautiful, fast and easy way to travel. And even better, the ferry offers a bar service so you can be commuting while enjoying a nice cold beer on board!

South san Francisco Route weekday service to and from South San Francisco's Oyster point
Alameda Short Hop weekday service to and from Main Street Alameda
Chase Center Route direct service to and from Chase Center for Warriors games
Oracle Park Route direct service from Oracle Park for Giants home games The ferry Terminal does not offer a dedicated parking facility, so it might be a good idea to plan ahead to save you wasting time before your ferry trip. The Smarking garage is just a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal and is near to many other great attractions in the city!
Parking in and around Oakland
Washington And Embarcadero West Garage
Ferry riders receive up to 12 hours of free validated parking in the Washington Street And Embarcadero West Garage but be aware that anything over this time and you will be charged. This garage is located at 101 Washington Street near the ferry terminal and you will be required to validate your ticket at the ferry terminal itself.
Street Parking
There are lots of metered parking spots around Oakland downtown. The on-street meters are enforced Monday through to Saturday - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, costing $2 an hour and $24 for 24-hour parking. Metered spaces on a Sunday offer free parking. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find a secure parking spot as you don't want to be rushing to catch your ferry!
Jack London Market Garage
Also located in Jack London Square, you will find the Jack London Market Garage. It is located just beside Amtrak Station and it is just a 12-minute walk away from the Ferry terminal. The first hour of parking is $2 but anything after the first hour is a rate of $2 every 30 minutes.
Smarking Garage
If you want a safe, affordable, easy parking option, then this is exactly what you're looking for! Smarking garage is just a 20-minute walk to the ferry terminal and with the SmartPass you can reserve and pay for your spot ahead of time, making it totally stress-free. Only those with a QR code get access to the garage so you can park your vehicle knowing it is in a very secure location.
Franklin Plaza Garage
The Franklin Garage, located on 419 19th Street, between Franklin and Broadway is about a 25-minute walk to the Oakland ferry terminal. The hourly rate is $2 and goes up to $36 for the day. Keep in mind, this garage is only open on weekdays and operates on a first-come, first -serve basis.

The Preservation Park is a Victorian neighborhood where 16 different historic homes are located, occupying 2 blocks of Downtown Oakland. It is now used as an event space, and the houses are offices of non-profits.
The Preservation Park is just two blocks from the City Centre BART Station and an 8-minute walk from the Smarking garage. The park is open to the public throughout the day and offers a rental service for weddings, parties, and meetings. I highly recommend checking out this authentic, hidden gem.
Oakland City Center
The center is an incredibly popular entertainment and business spot. Treat yourself to some shopping in the fantastic retail area, enjoy a delicious meal or coffee in the substantial selection of restaurants and cafes, and don't forget to check out the incredible business hub.
