Located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, within walking distance to the best entertainment, dining, and shopping in Austin's downtown area. The Hyatt Regency hotel is definitely a great option for your next visit to the wonderful Live Music Capital of the world.
Whether you are visiting for business, pleasure, or you're simply attending an event at the hotel, you'll find a super convenient location, as well as some of the best lake and downtown views. The bad news? The Hyatt Regency Austin parking fees are, to say the least, unreasonably high.
But don't worry, with the flexible parking by SmartPass, you'll find a safe and hassle-free parking garage just a few minutes away, for half the price! Reserve and pay for your parking spot ahead of time, and make the most out of your time in the city. Now, that's smart parking.
The Hyatt Regency Austin Hotel Parking Options
Let's talk about the hotel's fees and other nearby parking options that you should consider if you are looking for a safe place to leave your car for the day or for an event.
The hotel's parking garage fees go from $9 for one hour up to $47 to leave your car for the night (8+ hours). Note that the prices do not include taxes. Read here for more paid parking options.
If you're short on time, the hotel also offers valet parking for their guests. The fee goes from $20 for the first 4 hours (which is actually better than the garage parking option), up to $52 for 8+ hours. Again, add the tax to it.
The Music Lane Parking Garage
The nearby Music Lane Parking Garage is a popular option for people visiting or staying at the Hyatt Regency Austin. It's a 12 min walk from the hotel, on 1101 South Congress Ave. Parking prices start at $6 for the first 2 hours and go up to $36 for up to 24hrs.
Be aware, that some user reviews mention poor gate system functioning and no desk staff available to help.
101 Colorado Garage
The 101 Colorado Garage is a covered parking garage located between Congress Ave and Colorado St. with an entrance on Cesar Chavez St. It's about a 15 min walk to the Hyatt Regency Austin. Their rate is an affordable $12 for every 2 hours. However, it does not allow in/out access.
JW Marriott Hotel Garage
The JW Marriott Hotel garage is another good nearby option on 110 E 2nd St. They offer underground parking starting at $20 for the first 3 hours and up to $51 for day parking. These rates don't include taxes. There is Hilton Austin parking nearby as well.
Smarking Parking Garage
If you want to make your day easier, reserve your parking spot with the best rates ahead of time. With the SmartPass you'll get a great parking space just minutes away from the Hyatt Regency Austin. You simply scan your QR code for in/out access throughout the day and forget about wasting your precious time looking for a spot.
Free Parking in Downtown Austin
Yes, there are some free parking options in the Austin downtown area. The designated spots on the streets are free on Sundays and some national holidays like Labor Day, Christmas or 4th of July.
However, your best bet is to use the metered spaces after their working hours, which is usually after midnight and before 8am. Parking in metered spaces on Sundays is free.
This option is good only for a quick stop. If you are not sure of how long you'll be away, or you're looking for an overnight parking spot, don't risk it with free street parking. Booking a parking garage is safer and cheaper than paying for a parking ticket.
If you're planning on staying longer though, you're in luck! There are plenty of parking options for you. Find out more Downtown Austin Monthly Parking options here.
